The problem with "adjacent" is it doesn't tell you which adjacent cards. Horizontal? Vertical? both? And to discard 2 cards to do that?Lightning Burst
Group: Spell Card
Type: Spell
Discard 2 cards and select 1 card on the field. Destroy all cards adjacent to the selected card.

Select 1 card on the field: destroy the cards in the zones adjacent to the selected card (includes horizontally and vertically adjacent cards.)
Re: Lightning Burst
So, potentially destroy 5 cards. Usually 2 or 3 because people almost always put their spells/traps and monsters next to each other.
It's not that it couldn't be played around, just people don't want to think about adjacent zones and stuff when dueling. At least if you're playing against those kind of cards.

Re: Lightning Burst
destroying 5 cards? wait it counts diagonal adjacents too?
I thought like, for example, if you selected an opponent's monster card, the 2 monster card zones next to it and the S/T underneath it bearing cards, would have those ones destroyed.

Re: Lightning Burst
oh, i misread.
Still, 3 cards - I think we should get some feedback, ultimately, it's up to the players if they really want to add zone placement to their list of worries.

Re: Lightning Burst
I don't want to face this card, since zone placement is so goddamn annoying.

Re: Lightning Burst
If it's unwanted, perhaps we can change the card's effect to something less zone placement terrorizing?
Re: Lightning Burst
I definitely agree that zone placement is a really lame thing to have to worry about.
