New Set?

So the tournament has been declared dead, I think. This should mean we start discussing our next set.

Please, Leo or Ash, if this goes against plans, tear this thread down and lock it. Otherwise, I think it's about time.

Let us discuss:
*Themes?
*Set Name?
*How much Generic cards / How much archetypal cards

80 generic/10 support for archtypes/10 for a new one
Theme: Insect, Reptile, and Winged Beast support mostly + other random shit
Name: Vengeance of the Forest

Well Leo did says to start a new set in Mid April or early May.

Theme: Dinosuar, Fish, Sea Serpent.

@ Rayven - The set will likely be larger, like 150 or 200. So we could handle some more archetypes.

In my opinion

So, we seem to be in agreement there are certain undersupported types.

But to be honest, in terms of solid support, Dinosaurs, Reptiles and Insects have more than Winged-Beasts. We could focus a little on them but if any type needs help, it's Winged beasts.

As for Fish and Sea-Serpents, many can be combined with WATER so I personally am not worried about them much. WATER has good support while there are less WIND Winged-Beasts, and less support for it.

Set names I'm putting my vote for Poker Face's. nothing personal

The winged-beast will be taken care eventually. As for fish and sea serpent they can be piled up to WATER if they are otherwise it a different matter if they're not.

As for set name I have another in case.

Prehistoric Mutation (PHMU) if the name I have is a bit long.

I think for a general thing: We need Insect/Dinosaur/Winged Beast

and i like Prehistoric Mutation

Ok, I agree with all that, but I would strongly recommend against too much Dino support. It's already a good decktype with good solid support. Focus more on those other types we mentioned, please.

I didn't think this would be for supports, but to bump up the under populated Types: Dino, Sea serpent, Fish, Reptile, Pyro. those are the top 5 underpopulated, Psychic is the 12/17th away from that a list atm, so this shouldn't be added so much at all either.

Oh I get what you're saying. Dino has good support, but could use some "Generic" monsters for fillers. I find this to be true with Insects too. They've got the support but just need some targets.

Insect-wise, Vermin Raiser is one of those "Red Eyes Darkness Metal" style cards with a shitload of summoning power behind it, but since there aren't many cards it could send out with it's effect that would be effective, it's kind of overlooked.

Set will be 200 cards as per Ash's statements.

Since we don't know how many people will submit cards, let's keep it at 15 initially. After we get an idea of the submitter base we will allow more in.

And we also need to keep in mind archetype slots. This is something we should decide on - how many people get them this set and how many cards each? Werelord suggested 30 cards which I thought would be good for 3 people to get 10 each... anyway, archetypes will take a portion out of the set we must account for.

Well I haven't had an archtype in a while...

I don't think most people have had one for awhile.
