Need Insects? No problem!

|Maxipede|???|????|Insect/Effect|Earth|3||1100|400|If you control no monster, you can discard this card to Special Summon 1 "Maxipede" (from your Deck). When this card is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard: Add 1 "Maxipede" from your Graveyard to your hand. If there 3 "Maxipede" in your Graveyard: you can Normal Summon an Insect-Type monster by banishing a number of "Maxipede" in your Graveyard X the number needed for the Tribute Summon +1.|
Possible nerf would be the 2nd effect.
|Hidden "C"|???|????|Insect/Effect|Dark|2||500|500|While you control another face-up Insect-Type monster: Your opponent cannot target this card for an attack. When a face-up insect-Type you control would be targeted for a card effect: You can switch target to this card instead.|
|Infestacide|???|????|Insect/Effect|Earth|4||1400|1700|When a face-up Insect-type monster you control is destroy: Add 1 Insect-Type monster equal or less then the Level of the destroyed monster from your Deck to your hand.|
|Assist-Ant|???|????|Insect/Effect|Earth|3|500|200|When an Insect-Type monster you control battles with a monster, you Special Summon this card (from your hand), then increase the ATK of that Insect-type monster by 500 during the Damage Step. If this card is Special Summoned by an effect of other cards: Return it to your hand. The effects of "Assist-Ant" can only be activate once per turn.|
|F.A.I.Y.U.P-Ant|???|????|Insect/effect|Fire|3||500|1300|When this card is destroyed by battle: Equip this card to the Monster that destroyed this card instead of sending it to the Graveyard; Take control of that monster. The Equipped monster cannot declares an attack or change Battle Position.|

Infestacide is a good version of Verdant Sanctuary.
Hidden C is a good attacklocker and effect funnel.
Maxipede is pretty good, but not sure if it can be applied effectively in-game.
Assis-Tant is a smaller Kalut, but it summons itself.

Assit Ant: I wonder if 500 ATK temporary boost is fine, i could bump up to 700 or so. this can still be negated by cards that camel its summon so it's more vulnerable to compare to Kalut.
