General Community LCCG FAQ
This was first suggested by Aquamarius (Props )
This is just a huge FAQ for starting out in the LCCG. If you want to edit anything, or want me to link your own FAQ thread, just say so.
This is just a huge FAQ for starting out in the LCCG. If you want to edit anything, or want me to link your own FAQ thread, just say so.
- LCCG Submission Process:
Q: When can I submit Cards?
A: When we have sets open for submission. Admins will decide when sets are open or closed. There is about 1 a month.
Q: Can I post cards while submissions are closed?
A: Yes, for review. This is to either get your cards prepared for submission, or if you're just curious what we think of them.
Q: What if a card is Overpowered or Underpowered?
A: Any of our members can mention if the card is Overpowered or Underpowered (OP'd and UP'd for short). OP'd cards are more of a worry for the game, but useful, not UP'd cards are always appreciated. We will usually offer fixes, you can take them or provide your own. If you take ours you will have priority over which ones to take. In rare cases, if deemed necessary for the game, a card can be limited upon submission, but this usually happens after testing.
Q: When does testing happen? Who can Test?
A: Any and all times. Anyone can test through dueling.
Q: How should I post my cards?
A: In a special format called "YVD Format". It's the format used by YVD and the Duel Arena, and a download can be found Here
Q: What is the policy on Archetypes?
A: Archetype slots for each set will be determined for each person by admins, usually going off whoever has already submitted generic cards / who hasn't submitted an archetype yet. Initial archetype submissions must be 10 cards or less, but can be expounded on later.
Q: Are we allowed to have Pop Culture cards or Retraining cards of old or current Yugioh cards from the original game?
A: Pop culture submissions (like Pokemon, Bleach, Naruto, Death Note, etc.) will be voted on by the active duelers in LCCG if they want it in the game or not. Retooling old cards from TCG are allowed, as long as the effect, stats, etc. are different enough from the original card (i.e. A stardust dragon remake with "2400 ATK" instead of 2500 is NOT different enough!)
Q: Are we allowed to make OTKs, FTKs, Lockdowns, or Infinite Loop Burns/Draw Engines on purpose? If we find any unintentionally, can we use them?
A: Nope. Any permanent lockdowns, Easy OTK's, ANY FTK's, or any Infinite loops will have action taken against them. If you find them unintentionally, you are free to enjoy it, while it lasts
Q: Are we allowed to explain the rulings of our own cards, and let others do so as well?
A: Absolutely. In the Wikia, you can add the ruling page to your card if it's archived already.
Q: If I quit, what happens to my cards?
A: They stay in the game. It is too cumbersome to try and remove them from the set, the wikia, the DA, and everything else. When you submit cards, you agree to them staying there.
Q: What is considered overpowered?
A: Lots of things could be considered overpowered. Here, we have a lower standard of power than the TCG. Less swarm, less destruction, less stall, and less burn. To address every aspect of this would be too lengthy, so post your cards and we'll tell you if it's ok for this game.
- Dueling and YVD:
Q: How do we duel?
A: We use YVD, which a download be found here.
Q: How do I get CCG cards into YVD?
A: Follow these instructions: https://lccg.forumotion.com/t189-how-to-create-a-custom-set-for-ccg ~thanks Darkest~
Q. Some cards show up as “bad card” when I duel?
A. How to fix this depends on who has the bad cards. If you have the bad cards, you should update your .set file, then go look if any of the cards in your decks have been renamed. If so, remove those cards from your deck and then reinsert them. If your opponent has the bad cards, you should also update your .set file! However, if this does not work, please ask your opponent to follow these instructions. ~thanks Aqua~
Q. My cards that I put in the SET file won't show up!
A. Right-click the YVD exe file and go to "run as". Run as administrator. If you have it password protected, you might need to change your privelages from the control panel in your start menu.
Q. When I try to Load YVD, it says "run-time error"?
A. This means that you somehow edited the SET file or it is corrupted. PM us and we will look over the file and take out the mistakes.
Q: How do I change my name from "Newbie"? OR How do I add a custom playing mat?
A: In the deck editor of YVD, go to the top-left screen and click on "Settings". Change your Username there, or Load a Mat there.
- Wikia FAQ:
Q: What is the Wikia?
A: The LCCG Wikia is basically the Yugioh Wikia for the LCCG. It's where we archive cards, post tips + hints (also in the forum), or articles (also in the forum). The Ban List is also located there.
Q: How do I help w/ archiving Cards (in YVD Format?)?
A: Download This and follow the instructions on that thread.
Q: How do I add card images? What are they used for?
A: On any page (except the main page), look on the right-hand screen and go to "Add Photo". Browse for a Picture you made using the YCM Card Maker (of an LCCG card), and add it. We ask that you give the picture name the same name as the card itself, with a .jpg extension. Pictures will be used in the Wikia, YVD (with Lifespark's program), and the DA.
Q: Why are there some cards in the Wikia that aren't in the .set file?
A: http://yugiohccg.wikia.com/wiki/Reset
- Duel Portal FAQ:
Q: What is the Duel Portal?
A: http://yugiohccg.wikia.com/wiki/LCCG_Duel_Arena
Q: What does the Duel Portal have to do with the LCCG?
A: First, it's made by me. JK, it's not just shameful advertising. The Duel Portal can be used as a precursor to submitting your cards into YVD. You may test them there if you wish. Also, in the event of an Inter-CCG tournament, we have used the Duel Portal and we may use it again.
Q: I get a framework error when I run the Duel Portal?
A: Download this: http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspxdisplaylang=en&id=17851
- Features of the LCCG:
Q: When do we have Tournaments? What kind do we have? Prizes?
A: We have had several tournaments, and we usually have them after 2 sets or so. We have had normal tournaments which were just Elimination style or Swiss style. We have had / will have a Mixmatch Tourney, in which decks are randomly re-distributed to players. We have had an Inter-CCG tournament, where we compete against another CCG. In the future we could have a DA tournament. Prizes can range from a Duel Mat to an individual pack of just your cards.
Q: What is Traditional Format like?
A: http://yugiohccg.wikia.com/wiki/Traditional_Format
Q: What is the "LCCG magazine"?
A: It's a Word document we sometimes release, made by our members. It contains, but is not limited to, a duel puzzle, new members recognition (i.e. "Births"), members leaving (i.e. "Obituaries"), Strategy Guides for cards, Strategy Guides for Decks, and General News.
Q: What is the LCCG FanFic?
A: It was a Short-Lived fanfic written by Evanm7, some co-writing by LeoMence. If popularity increases it is possible it will be revived.

well cards that create OTK and FTK possibilities are definitely need to be prevented as the policy goes, and for lockdown... it really depend on the difficulty of performance or rather not have one at all but infinite Loop burns/draw/summon(this likely to be in OTK category but unless it take turns to finish the duels in infinite loop it would be ok. atm Shiva with RMR and Moroi is infinite loop summon lockdown :/ so basically this is a dangerous combination though i did not expect this at all, I basically make it to stall a turn or two and even attacking with it during those time as well.

Eh, Ok. I'll merge it with "what is considered OP'd" and go into more detail.

Here is a short explanation of everyone that's active:
Leo - The creator of the CCG. Lately has been using WIND which swarms + bounces
Me - I use Control decks, usually WATER
Scheath - Uses Dragarity, which is Dragon synchro and swarm
Darkest Hour - Uses Zombies, which come back again and again. Also has a LP gain side-effect.
Aquamarius - FlashWinds, and i guess he's known for combining archetypes.
Snowy - Golems, which are Low-Level rocks that are good at recycling and synchroing.
Werelord - Uses Beast's and Beast-Warriors, which usually mean beatdown
Evanm7 - Uses a bunch of decks. Idk XD
Dylan (or dtw) - Although he doesn't duel much he uses Insects.

Is there usually a theme chosen for each set? As in, more support for a certain type or attribute or so on?

Re: General Community LCCG FAQ
You make what you want, generally. People can pool in to make support for other things, like old archetypes, rituals, different types and what not, but there's no real theme to stick to.JudoKan wrote:Is there usually a theme chosen for each set?
