Xyzs and Konami's Incompetence

As some of you might agree, Konami sucks. Their rulings on Xyzs deattaching are so weird, they had to make a new term called "limbo". Limbo is neither on the field nor off the field. Cards like Reborn Tengu don't activate when overlayed or deattached. Dandylion doesn't make tokens when it's "sent to the graveyard" when deattached, even though common sense would tell you otherwise.

Anyway, should we change the rulings on this? We could consider being in "limbo" either explicitly on or off the field, and have effects that trigger when removed from the field activate at that time.

When the cards are underlaid they are no longer considered themselves, but part of the Xyz monster they are a material of. Therefore being detached doesn't remove the monster from the field. It removes a part of the Xyz.
Konami is correct IMO.

dandylion does make tokens and the ruling and idea makes complete sense. things like heraldic beast leo, dandylion and tour bus all activate when sent to the graveyard under any circumstance, even if detached.

and like soulfire already said, the tengu "off the field" ruling is also clear

there is no real difficulty or ruling dispute present
