Pyrrhic Gateway
Spell Card
Normal
Discard all cards in your hand and destroy all cards on your side of the field. Select 1 Monster in your Extra Deck whose total Level Stars equal the amount of cards you discarded and destroyed to activate this effect, and Special Summon it to either side of the field. If the Selected monster has "cannot be Special Summoned" in their effect text, it is changed to "can be Special Summoned" until the End Phase.

Hmm, seeing as how you need to get the exact amount of cards to destroy, and how you lose lots of advantage, there's no problem with a little backdoor summoning.

1 problem. If it's the only card in your hand and you control no cards, you can summon any Exceed monster you wish.

Xyz monsters are not treated as Level 0, but are treated "as having no level". So this card would only be able to summon Fusions and Synchros.

I kind of would like this card to be Quickplay, would that be inherently bad in any way? It would be a good response card for when the opponent is about to wreck your crap and destroy everything.

I don't see how it would be playable normally, but being quickplay sounds good especially for the reason stated above. I don't really see how many monsters this could reasonably bring out for 2 or 3 cards (more than that doesn't seem worth it) like the Thunder-type synchro one.
