Re: ROM hacks
possible. i've seen finished hacks of FE, FF and such. maybe you can bruteforce the game or something to hack it.

It would be difficult I'd say, but if you could make a LCCG video game, I would die xD

Re: ROM hacks
Which one would it be based from? I'm thinking if you are going the GBA route, you could do World Championship 2006. It's one that doesn't use heavily altered cards like the Sacred Cards game did, and would be easier to insert our cards into.

Yeah, WC 2006 is one of my favorites. They've got a good A.I. and stuff, but no storyline. So i'm thinking either that or GX Duel Academy.
Of course this is all just hypothetical right now.

I've doomed us all D:
Re: ROM hacks
GX duel academy is good, but you can't make any contexts about the dorms.

Re: ROM hacks
imo, it'll be easier to code cards on YGOPRO rather than on the DS games, internal game mechanics being the problem(no xyzs, can only use mechanics that already existed in the game without radically altering the game or using an advanced skill of ASM and spriting). But that's if you wantt to port lccg into a game. If you want to hack a game for your own project/amusement, then just consider how much effort do you willing to put in the game, and choose the base game from that point. GBA games should be easier to hack in general.

Re: ROM hacks
We could hack Xyzs and Synchros as Fusion monsters in the GBA games, and just change them slightly.

According to my limited knowledge of ROM hacking, you can only overwrite data, not add it. That's a problem cause our cards' text are waaay longer than the TCG's

That is a good idea. I've been studying YGOPRO's script style and making something similar to it.
I was kinda hoping for a storyline, but if all else fails I'll try to do YGOPRO.
